Guaranteed cost control consists in finding, for an uncertain linear system, a stabilizing feedback ensuring a certain level of performance in closed loop. Here, the authors apply state-space methods to derive a convex linear matrix inequality (LMI) formulation of guaranteed cost dynamical output feedback design in the case of discrete-time systems affected by unstructured uncertainty. Both the approach and the obtained results are standard.
