The author enumerates all one-class genera of maximal integral definite quadratic forms with three or more variables over totally real number fields other than the rational numbers \(\mathbb Q\) (For \(\mathbb Q\) this was done by \textit{J. Hanke} [Enumerating maximal definite quadratic forms of bounded class number over \(\mathbb Z\) in \(n\geq 3\) variables, (2011) \url{http://arxiv.org/pdf/1110.1876v1.pdf}]). This classification also yields all maximal quaternion orders of type number one. The method is based on the Minkowski-Siegel mass formula which is explicitly evaluated for maximal integral lattices by \textit{G. Shimura} [Duke Math. J. 97, No. 1, 1--66 (1999; Zbl 1161.11325)]. It turns out that there are \(471\) such genera, the maximal number of variables is \(6\) and the maximal degree of the number field is \(5\).
