The authors consider the inverse problem of permeability estimation for flows in two-phase porous media. The approach to this inverse problem is a predictor-corrector strategy. For each estimation problem, it is assumed that an adaptive multiscale estimation (AME) has been carried out. The purpose of AME is to find a permeability estimate by solving a sequence of parameter estimation problems with increasing dimension. In combination with AME, the authors also use the level-set representation of permeability.
