The authors are interested in spinless free fermions on \(\mathbb{R}^{1}\) in a quadratic potential well at finite temperature. The authors analyze the canonical ensemble of the Moshe-Neuberger-Shapiro (MNS) model directly. They prove that the limiting results obtained for the grand canonical ensemble hold for the canonical ensemble as well. For the MNS (random matrix) model, the authors compute explicitly the gap probability and \(m\)-correlation functions by means of a contour integral. The authors define the \(m\)-correlation functions of the sine process by using the correlation kernel. The authors show that the limiting local correlation functions depend on \(x\), the limiting position of the particles. Taking into account the 2-correlation function, the authors present the generalization to \(m\)-correlation function. The gap probability for the rightmost particle is computed.
