In this paper, the authors have considered the two-dimensional (2D) shallow-water equations. First, they have introduced the enriched Galerkin method for the system of 2D shallow-water equations. Then, they have shown the accuracy and robustness of the proposed method using an analytical convergence test. Finally, they have compared the enriched Galerkin method and discontinuous Galerkin method in terms of accuracy, stability, and robustness using artificial and realistic test problems.
