The use of asymptotic expansion techniques for (a) establishing regularity results for the solution and (b) for deriving a priori error estimates for the boundary element Galerkin discretization is demonstrated for singular perturbed elliptic transmission problems. The authors show in detail the dependence of the corresponding bounds on the singular perturbation parameter which is complemented by numerical experiments.
