Triggered by practical needs in the research of orbital and rotational motions of celestial bodies the authors are intensively looking for precise and fast procedures to compute numerically the Jacobian elliptic functions and the complete and incomplete elliptic integrals as well as their inversion. In the present paper the target is the associate complete elliptic integral of the third kind \[ J(n|m)=\int_0^{\pi/2}\frac{\sin^2\theta}{(1-n\sin^2\theta)\sqrt{1-m\sin^2\theta}}d\theta. \] With clever transformations and applying some less known addition theorems the author was able to describe a fast numerical algorithm to calculate \(J(n|m)\) for a wide range of parameters with good precision (at most 10 machine epsilon). The presented numerical data show that the performance of the algorithm (both in precision and time) is better than the previous ones.
