Let \(G_ 1,G_ 2,\dots,G_ n\) be finite groups with the same order \(k\geq 2\) and let \(G=G_ 1*G_ 2*\dots*G_ n\) be their free product. The radial function \(\chi_ m\) is the characteristic function of the set of all elements of reduced length \(m\). The radial subalgebra \(A\) is generated by the multiplications with \(\chi_ m\). \(A\) is an abelian subalgebra of the group von Neumann algebra \(L(G)\), and under some conditions it is maximal abelian. The paper is devoted to the analysis of \(A\) as well as \((A\vee JAJ)''\). For example, the Pukánszky invariant is computed.
