Let \(n\geq 2\) be an integer, \([n]:= \{1,2,\dots,n\}\) and let \(N_n\) be the set of pairs \((s_1,s_2)\) where \(s_1,s_2\) are disjoint non-empty subsets of \([n]\) such that \(s_1\cup s_2=[n]\). Consider the polynomial algebra \(k[X_s:s \in N_n]\). For \(i\in [n]\), let \(\kappa(i)\) be the sum of the indeterminates \(X_{(s_1,s_2)}\) with \(i\in s_1\). The Manin ring \(\bar L_n\) is, by definition, the quotient of \(k[X_s: s\in N_n]\) by the ideal \(I_n\) generated by the linear relations \(\lambda(i,j): =\kappa(i)- \kappa(j)\) and the quadratic relations \(X_{s_1,s_2)} \cdot X_{(t_1,t_2)}\) with \(i\in s_1\) and \(j\in t_1\), for \(i,j\in [n]\), \(i\neq j\). It occurs as the homology of a family of pointed stable curves of genus 0 related to the solutions of the Commutativity Equations from physics: see \textit{A. Losev} and \textit{Y. Manin}, ``New moduli spaces of pointed curves and pencils of flat connections'', Mich. Math. J. 48, 443-472 (2000; Zbl 1078.14536). In this paper, using a result of \textit{B. Kind} and \textit{P. Kleinschmidt} [Math. Z. 167, 173-179 (1979; Zbl 0388.13015)] the author shows that \(\bar L_n\) is the Stanley-Reisner ring of the canonical triangulation of the \(n\)-cube modulo a system of parameters and, consequently, computes immediately the Hilbert series of \(\bar L_n\). She remarks that \(\bar L_n\) can be also described as the Stanley-Reisner ring of the dual of the permutahedron modulo a system of parameters. The author also introduces a \({\mathcal B}_n\) analogue of the Manin ring, the so-called signed Manin ring \(\bar L^\pm _n\), which turns out to be the Stanley-Reisner ring of the barycentric subdivision of the \(n\)-cube (equivalently, the dual of the signed permutahedron) modulo a system of parameters.
