Let \(S\) be a monoid. The authors introduce some new notions, namely: an \(S\)-act \(A_S\) is called (finitely) superflat if the functor \(A_S\otimes-\) preserves all (finite) limits, and (finitely) product flat if it preserves all (finite) products. The article gives a full description of acts having these properties. It is proved, for example, that: (i) An S-act \(A_S\) is finitely product flat if and only if \(A_S\) is locally cyclic and \(\forall a\in A\), \(s,s',t,t'\in S\) (\(as=as'\) \& \(at=at'\Rightarrow a\otimes(s,t)=a\otimes(s',t')\) in \(A\otimes(S\times S)\)); (ii) \(A_S\) is finitely superflat if and only if \(A_S\) is locally cyclic and pullback flat; (iii) \(A_S\) is superflat if and only if \(A_S\) is cyclic and projective. A number of interesting special cases is dealt with as well.
