Let \(\mu\) be a non-degenerate Gaussian measure on a real separable Hilbert space \(H\). For a selfadjoint and non-negative operator \(A\) in \(H\), let \(e^{tL}=\Gamma (e^{-tA})\) be a \(C_0\)-semigroup of positive contractions on \(L^p(H,\mu)\) defined by means of the second quantization operator \(\Gamma\). In the paper under review an explicit characterization of the domains of \((I-L)^{m/2}\) in \(L^p(\mu)\) in terms of Gaussian Sobolev spaces are given for all \(p\in (1,\infty)\) and \(m=1,2,\dots\), and thus extending the P. A. Meyer result on equivalence of norms. The main tools are the Littlewood-Paley-Stein inequalities which are proved under minimal assumptions by a purely analytic methods following \textit{E. Stein} [``Topics in Harmonic Analysis'', Princeton, NJ (1970; Zbl 0193.10502)].
