Developing the idea of the renewal theorem for Minkowski sums of random closed sets of the reviewer, \textit{E. Omey} and \textit{E. Kozarovitzky} [Adv. Appl. Probab. 27, No.~4, 931-942 (1995; Zbl 0835.60006)], the authors extend it for Minkowski sums of fuzzy random sets (or random upper semicontinuous functions) in a general inner-product space. The authors formulate the results for the set-indexed counting process itself, rather than its expectation as considered in the earlier work.
