The Brualdi lemniscate set \(B(A)\) provides a subset of the complex plane which contains the spectrum and is determined by the diagonal entries, the corresponding row sums of the absolute values of the off-diagonal entries, and the set of circuits in the graph of the matrix. Here it is shown that \(B(A)\) is a subset of the union of Brauer ovals, which in turn is a subset of the union of Geršgorin disks, that it is the best possible bound which can be obtained using this data, and that the minimal Geršgorin set, an intersection over conjugates by nonnegative diagonal matrices, is contained in \(B(A)\).
