It is well-known that every relatively compact trajectory of a gradient-like system approaches a set of equilibria for large times. Therefore it is interesting to deal with sufficient conditions providing that every relatively compact trajectory converges to a single equilibrium as time goes to infinity. Based on a Lojasiewicz-Simon-type inequality the authors deal with the question mentioned above for a gradient-like systems of the form: \[ {du \over dt}= -M(u)+f\bigl(t,u(t) \bigr),\;t>0, \] where \(M:H\to H^*\) is assumed to be a mapping with an analytic potential \(E:H\to \mathbb{R}\) defined on a real Hilbert space. The function \(f:\mathbb{R}_+\times H\to\mathbb{R}\) is assumed to decay sufficiently fast for large times.
