Let \(M(p_1,\dots,p_s)\) be the collection of analytic disks \(f:\overline \Delta\to \mathbb{C}^N\) attached to a generic real submanifold \(S\) of \(\mathbb{C}^N\) with fixed points \(p_1,\dots, p_s\in S\) (i.e., \(\{p_1, \dots, p_s) \subset f(\partial \Delta)\subset S)\). Using the notion of defect of an analytic disk introduced by A. Tumanov and studied by P. Rossi, the author gives a sufficient condition for \(M(p_1,\dots,p_s)\) to be a manifold. He also studies the images of the differentials of the evaluation maps \(e_x(f)=f(x)\), \(f\in M(p_1, \dots,p_s)\). In addition, it is shown that for a strictly pseudoconvex hypersurface \(S\) satisfying some Runge type condition, all the attached analytic disks have zero defect. Part of the results are obtained by following the arguments of an unpublished manuscript by J. M. Tréprau, and the author provides the reader with some of the proofs appearing there.
