    The author considers two species periodic competitive parabolic systems with perturbations: \[ \partial u_i/ \partial t=A_i(t) u_i+u_i g_i(x,t,u)+ \varepsilon \sum_{j=1,2}M_{ij} (x,t) u_j\;\text{in }\Omega\times (0,\infty), \] \[ B_iu_i=0,\;i=1,2\text{ on }\partial \Omega_x (0,\infty) \] here \(\Omega\) is a bounded subset of \(\mathbb{R}^N\), with smooth boundary \(\partial\Omega\), \(u=(u_1,u_2)\in \mathbb{R}^2\), \(\varepsilon \in[0,\varepsilon_0] (\varepsilon_0>0)\), \(A_i(t)\) \((i=1,2)\) are uniform elliptic operators, \(B_iu_i=u_i\) or \(B_iu_i= \partial u_i/ \partial n+\alpha_i u_i\) \((\alpha_i >0)\), \(M_{ij}\in C^2 (\overline\Omega \times\mathbb{R}, \mathbb{R})\) are \(T\) periodic in \(t\) and \(M_{ii}(x,t) >0\), \(M_{ij}(x,t) \geq 0\), \(i\neq j\). A theorem in connection with the competitive exclusion and one concerning the competitive coexistence are proved, using some abstract results; some applications of these theorems are presented.
