The authors study the asymptotic long-time dissipation of solutions of isentropic Navier-Stokes equations in even (larger than two) multidimensions. Using a Fourier transform of the Green function of the linearized system and applying the Duhamel principle, the authors derive explicit pointwise estimates for the derivatives of the solution. The results obtained are interpreted as a generalized Huygens principle.
