Let \(\pi_d\) denote the \(d\)-fold Cartesian product of the interval \([-\pi,\pi]\) with itself. The author defines the spaces \(S^{\Omega}_{p, \theta}B \subset L_p(\pi_d)\), whose properties are determined by the majorant function \(\Omega(t)\), by a mixed modulus of continuity, and by numerical parameters \(p\) and \(\theta\), \(1 \leq p, \theta \leq \infty\). The author's definition of these spaces is a slight modification of the definition used by \textit{Y. Sun} and \textit{H. Wang} in [Proc. Steklov Inst. Math. 219, 350--371 (1997) and Tr. Mat. Inst. Steklova 219, 356--377 (1997; Zbl 1032.42015)]. For a certain class of spaces \(S^{\Omega}_{p, \theta}B\), the author obtains order estimates for the best bilinear approximation of functions of two variables by functions in these spaces.
