This paper refers to a previous publication by \textit{S. K. Mishra} and \textit{K. K. Lai} in [Eur. J. Oper. Res. 178, No. 1, 20--26 (2007; Zbl 1110.90076)]. The authors of the new paper write that they discuss and remove some omissions and inconsistencies contained in this paper from 2007. This concerns particularly some logical shortcomings in the definitions and dual formulations. After a brief introduction, Section 2 gives some necessary notations and preliminaries, where also a correct form of the definitions from Mishra and Lai is given. Section 3, which is entitled Mond-Weir type second-order symmetric duality, presents a correct version of the dual formulations. In particular, results on weak duality, strong duality and converse duality are given. Section 4 deals with self duality. Finally, in Section 5, some special cases are briefly discussed.
