The paper presents a well organized study of the \(\tau\)-quasi-Einstein metrics on complete non-compact Riemannian manifold. An interesting rigidity property on these metrics is given. The Laplacian comparison theorem and the maximum principle are used to obtain both lower and upper estimates for scalar curvatures.
