The power algebra of an algebra \(A\) is defined on the set of all non-empty subsets of the set \(A\) by so-called complex operations. A mode is an idempotent and entropic algebra, i.e. with mutually commuting term operations. The authors study extended power algebras -- power algebras with an additional semilattice operation. They describe some congruence relations on such algebras with idempotent quotients. These congruences determine a class of nontrivial subvarieties of the variety of modals (semilattice-ordered modes) of an appropriate type.
