There are many generalisations and extensions of Banach's contraction principle in various different settings. In this article, the authors introduce a new type of contraction mapping called \(\alpha\)-\(H\;\Theta\)-contractions and establish some fixed point results for this class of mappings in the settings of metric spaces and ordered metric spaces.
