[For part III see the authors, ibid. 68, No. 2, 214-247 (1986; Zbl 0739.49015).] This paper is the fourth in a series on viscosity solutions of first order Hamilton-Jacobi equations in infinite dimensions. This particular papers treats Hamiltonians with unbounded linear terms, including stationary and time-varying problems. The definition of viscosity solution is extended to include these unbounded operators. Comparison and existence results are presented under two quite different assumptions --- one to include elliptic differential operators on a bounded domain with Dirichlet boundary conditions and a different one to include wave equations with Dirichlet boundary conditions on a bounded domain.
