The authors consider the following semilinear system of thermoelasticity of second sound: \[ \begin{aligned} u_{tt}-\alpha^2u_{xx}+\beta \theta_x&= f(u,u_x,u_t,\theta),\\ \theta_t+\gamma q_x+\delta u_{tx}&= g(u,u_x,u_t,\theta), \end{aligned} \] \[ \tau q_t+q+x\theta_x =0 \] in \((0,\infty)\times \mathbb R\), with initial conditions which may have jumps at \(x=0\). The aim of this paper is to study the above system by investigating the asymptotic behavior of these jumps as \(\tau\to 0\). They got the interesting information about the relation between classical thermoelasticity, that is \(\tau=0\), and the above system.
