The author introduced in [Ann. Acad. Sci. Fenn., Math. 28, No. 2, 385--414 (2003; Zbl 1029.30027)] the concept of quasi-isotopy. Here he calculates optimal quasi-isotopy constants for several classes of domains in which the Apollonian metric [as defined in \textit{A. F. Beardon}, Duren, Peter (ed.) et al., Quasiconformal mappings and analysis, New York, NY: Springer. 91--108 (1998; Zbl 0890.30030)] is quasi-isotopic, and provides sharp global inequalities between the Apollonian and \textit{P. Seittenranta}'s [Math. Proc. Camb. Philos. Soc. 125, No. 3, 511--533 (1999; Zbl 0917.30015)] metric.
