This paper studies the Cauchy problem for the second order linear differential equation \[ \ddot{x}+\left[\omega^2a^2(t)+\omega^{\frac{3}{2}}b_3(t,\omega t)+\omega b_2(t,\omega t)+\omega^{\frac{1}{2}}b_1(t,\omega t)+b_0(t,\omega t)\right]x=0, \quad t\in[0,T], \] \[ x(0)=x_0,\quad \dot{x}(0)=\omega x_1, \] where \(\omega\) is a large real parameter and \(x_0\) and \(x_1\) are given real numbers. The authors study the cases in which the coefficients contain both smooth and rapidly oscillating summands proportional to some positive powers of the high oscillation frequency. They construct the complete asymptotic expansions of the solution of the Cauchy problem. The estimations of the errors are also analyzed. Moreover, they give some supplements at the end of the paper dealing with another equation that can be reduced to the above form and a special case of the Cauchy problem.
