In Heegaard Floer homology, Ozsváth and Szabó have constructed what they called a link surgery spectral sequence which associates to a surgery along a link a spectral sequence with \(E^2\)-page provided by the reduced Khovanov homology of the mirror link and which converges to the Heegaard Floer homology of a branched double cover. The main result of this paper is to show analogous statements for monopole Floer homology. More precisely, the author provides a link surgery spectral sequence (in the above sense) in monopole Floer homology which converges to the monopole Floer homology of the manifold and he constructs a spectral sequence from reduced Khovanov homology to a version of the monopole Floer homology of the branched double cover.
