Quasi-polynomial functions over bounded distributive lattices (Q623428): Difference between revisions

The paper generalizes the approach and results on quasi-polynomial functions presented in [the authors, Aequationes Math. 78, No. 1--2, 195--213 (2009; Zbl 1257.28008)]. Note that the authors deal with possibly different bounded distributive lattices \(X\), \(Y\) in the domain (with \(n\) inputs) and in the co-domain, respectively, transforming first the inputs by an inner function \(\varphi: X\to Y\) which is not necessarily monotone. The authors show, among others, some axiomatizations of the class of quasi-polynomial functions in this more general setting, and they propose further characterizations of these functions by some necessary and sufficient conditions in terms of generalizations of standard properties from aggregation theory. Moreover, the concept of transformed polynomial functions is introduced and discussed.
