The author extends the Cole-Wermer formula for the two-variable polynomials with no zeros on the bidisk. He continues his previous papers [Indiana Univ. Math. J. 57, No.~3, 1353--1376 (2008; Zbl 1268.42045); Trans. Am. Math. Soc. 362, 5635--5655 (2010; Zbl 1205.14041)] and extends the sums of squares decomposition with uniqueness to all polynomials with no zeros on the open bidisk \(D^2\). As applications, he improves a bounded analytic extension theorem for a class of curves called distinguished varieties. He refers to two variable orthogonal polynomials with respect to a positive Borel measure on \(T^2\) which may have infinite mass. He also improves a characterization of the two variable Fejér-Riesz factorization and Pick interpolation on the bidisk.
