The paper is devoted to continuous coagulation-fragmentation equations which are a type of partial integro-differential equations that are also known as aggregation-breakage equations. Such equations describe the dynamics of particle growth and the time evolution of a system of particles under the combined effect of coagulation and fragmentation. Each particle is identified by its size (or volume), which is assumed to be a positive real number. From a physical point of view, the basic mechanisms taken into account are the coalescence of two particles to form a larger one and the breakage of particles into smaller ones. These models are of substantial interest in many areas of science and engineering: kinetics of phase transformations in binary alloys, aggregation of red blood. The authors demonstrate the uniqueness of mass-conserving solutions with some restrictions on the fragmentation kernels.
