On images of weak Fano manifolds (Q663248): Difference between revisions

The authors prove the following result: Let \(f:X\to Y\) be a smooth morphism of complex projective varieties. If \(X\) is a weak Fano manifold (i.e. \(-K_X\) is nef and big), then so is \(Y\). The proof is Hodge theoretic and does not require mod \(p\) reduction arguments. It should be noted that the analog result for Fano manifolds is proven in [\textit{J. Kollár, Y. Miyaoka} and \textit{S. Mori}, J. Differ. Geom. 36, No. 3, 765--779 (1992; Zbl 0759.14032)] (here, the proof requires mod \(p\) reduction arguments).
