The authors undertake the study of a number of generalized closed sets and the interrelations among them. Mainly some separation axioms weaker than the \(T_1\)-axiom along with characterizations of extremally disconnected spaces and sg-submaximal spaces in terms of the afore mentioned generalized closed sets are investigated.
