It is known that any geodesic hypersphere in \(\mathbb{C} P^{N-1}\) has two distinct constant principal curvatures of multiplicities \(2N-4\) and 1 respectively with J (normal) being an eigenvector of the shape operator corresponding to the latter. The author studies CR submanifolds of a complex Hopf manifold over \(\mathbb{C} P^{N-1}\) under various assumptions on the spectrum of the shape operator. One situation is to give a sufficient condition such that the CR submanifold under consideration lies in the pullback of a geodesic hypersphere via the Hopf fibration. Another situation is to give a sufficient condition under which the considered CR submanifold is locally a Riemannian product of totally geodesic submanifolds.
