The authors consider a semilinear evolution equation of the form \[ u'(t)=Au(t)+Fu(t),\;\;t>0;\;\;u(0)=v \] coupled with a nonlinear constraint \[ L_1u(t)=K(L_2u(t),u(t)), \;\;t>0, \] where \(A\) is a linear operator acting in a Banach space \(X\), \(L_1,L_2\) are linear operators from \(D(A)\) into another Banach space \(Z\) and \(K:Z\times X\to X\) is nonlinear. In order to solve this nonstandard problem the authors construct a nonlinear semigroups of Lipschitz operators acting in the whole \(X\) which are not quasicontractive, but locally equi-Lipschitz continuous. An interesting application to age-dependent population dynamics with pair formulation is also discussed.
