The author studies existence and regularity of solutions for some neutral evolution equations in Banach spaces with nonlocal conditions. The paper is important, since the linear part is not necessarily densely defined and satisfies the Hille-Yosida condition. The author uses the integrated semigroup theory and fixed point approach to prove the existence of integral and strict solutions. This work presents an extension of papers by \textit{X. Fu} and \textit{K. Ezzinbi} [Nonlinear Anal., Theory Methods Appl. 54A, 215--227 (2003; Zbl 1034.34096)] and \textit{K. Ezzinbi} and \textit{J. Liu} [Math. Comput. Modelling 36, 1027--1038 (2002; Zbl 1035.34063)].
