A barycentric representation of rational and polynomial Hermite interpolants is derived. It is shown that the polynomial Hermite interpolation can be computed as efficiently as the Newton formula. An algorithm for the barycentric formulas is given, the computational procedure being numerically stable. Some new interpolation principles based on rational interpolation are discussed.
