The authors are concerned with one-dimensional random walks in a random environment that are generalized versions of well-known effective models for Mott variable-range hopping. They first establish a functional central limit theorem for the diffusively coefficient and then prove rigurous bounds on it. In particular, these bounds confirm and extend the exponentional behviour and the transition predicted in previous work by physicists.
