    The role of uniform and non-uniform heating of the bottom wall and heat transfer characteristics due to natural convection flow in the porous trapezoidal enclosure of various inclination angles has been studied. The penalty finite element method has been used and smooth solutions are obtained in terms of stream function and isotherm contours for wide ranges of Prandtl number, Rayleigh number and Darcy number. Numerical results are presented in terms of stream functions, isotherm contours and Nusselt numbers.
