The author studies periodic traveling waves solutions to a curvature flow problem in the plane. A particular feature of the discussed setting is that it treats some kind of spatial heterogeneities that can naturally be connected to questions concerning singular-perturbation problems for reaction-diffusion equations posed in heterogeneous domains. It seems that the obtained results have a couple of similarities to aspects related to heterogeneous versions of Bernstein's problem and De Giorgi's conjecture.
