    Summary: \textit{Z. Cao} [in:Advances in cryptology -- ASIACRYPT 2006. 12th international conference on the theory and application of cryptology and information security, Shanghai, China, December 3--7, 2006. Proceedings. Berlin: Springer. Lect. Notes Comput. Sci. 4284, 460--466 (2006; Zbl 1172.94610)] presented a putative framing `attack' against the ACJT group signature scheme by Ateniese et al. This paper shows that the attack framework considered by Cao is invalid. As we clearly illustrate, there is no security weakness in the ACJT group signature scheme as long as all the detailed specifications of the original paper are being followed.
