The paper under review studies Weingarten surfaces in hyperbolic 3-space \(H^3\) satisfying \(\alpha (H-1)=\beta K\), where \(H\) and \(K\) denote the mean curvature and the Gauss curvature of the surface respectively, and \(\alpha, \beta\) are constants, which includes constant mean curvature surfaces and flat surfaces as subclasses. Among other things, the author gives a global representation formula for constant harmonic-mean curvature one surfaces which are defined to be the Weingarten surfaces in hyperbolic 3-space \(H^3\) satisfying \(H-1=K\). This generalizes the local representation formula given in [\textit{J. A. Gálvez, A. Martínez} and \textit{F. Milán}, Trans. Am. Math. Soc. 356, No. 9, 3405--3428 (2004; Zbl 1068.53044)]. The paper also studies fronts (i.e., surfaces with certain kinds of singularities) with constant harmonic-mean curvature one.
