The authors investigate the relationship between \(p\)-fatness, \(p\)-Hardy inequality, and uniform perfectness of subsets of Ahlfors \(Q\)-regular measure spaces. All notions are defined in the text. In the case \(p=Q\), it is shown that the three mentioned properties are in some sense equivalent. When \(p\neq 2\), the results are new even in the Euclidean setting. Moreover, the self-improving property of the \(p\)-Hardy inequality and that of uniform \(p\)-fatness in the case \(p=Q\) is demonstrated.
