Let \(k\) be an algebraically closed field of positive characteristic and let \({G}_{a}\) be its additive group. Let \({G}_{a}\) act linearly on a finite-dimensional vector space \(V\), Let \(k[V]\) be the ring of polynomial functions on \(V\), and let \(k[V]^{G_{a}}\) be the ring of \({G}_{a}\)-invariants. In this article, the author shows that the ring of \({G}_{a}\)-invariants \(k[V]^{G_{a}}\) is a polynomial ring under the assumption that \(V\) is a codimension one \({G}_{a}\)-module.
