Consider the hypersurfaces of degree \(d\) in the projective space \(\mathbb{P}^n\) as points of \(\mathbb{P}^N\), where \(N=\binom {n+d}d - 1.\) For \(d=2e\) let \(X_{(n,d)}\subseteq \mathbb{P}^N\) be the subvariety of two \(e\)-fold hyperplanes. The authors give an upper bound on the Castelnuovo regularity of the ideal of \(X_{(n,d)}\) and prove \(r\)-normality of this variety for \(r\geq 2.\) The proof makes use of Feynman diagrams and hypergeometric series.
