This note presents examples of rooted tree graphs for which the Laplacian has singular continuous spectral measures. Indeed, it is shown that the spectral theory of the Laplacian on such trees bears similarities to corresponding results for 1D Schrödinger operators with sparse-barrier potential. Explicit examples of trees with singular continuous spectrum are constructed and for some of these models, the spectral measures have fractional Hausdorff dimension. The results are obtained using a decomposition of the Laplacian into a direct sum of Jacobi matrices.
