Let \(\mathbb D\) denote the unit disc in \(\mathbb C\) with boundary \(\mathbb T\). It is well known that every inner function \(I\) in \(\mathbb D\) can be uniquely factorized as \(BS_\mu\), where \(B\) is a Blaschke product containing the zeros of \(I\) and \(S_\mu\) is a singular inner function for which \(\mu\) is a finite, positive, singular measure on \(\mathbb T\). Let \(\sigma_I\) denote the (boundary) spectrum of \(I\) consisting of the support of \(\mu\) along with the set of accumulation points of the zeros of \(B\) in \(\mathbb T\). By Frostman's theorem, if \(I\) is an inner function, then \(\varphi_a\circ I\), with \(\varphi_a(z) = \frac{a-z}{1-\overline a z}\), is a Blaschke product for all \(a\in\mathbb D\), except possibly for a set of capacity zero. A Blaschke product is said to be \textit{indestructible} if \(\varphi_a\circ B\) is a Blaschke product for all \(a\in\mathbb D\). In the paper the authors consider the following question: Is every inner function in the uniform closure of the indestructible Blaschke products \(\mathcal I\)? In Section 3 the authors provide some partial answers. Let \(\Omega\) denote the uniform closure of \(\mathcal I\) in \(H^\infty\). They first prove that if \(I\) is an inner function with countable spectrum \(\sigma_I\), then \(I\in\Omega\). Also, if \(|I(r\zeta)| = o(1-r)\) for all \(\zeta\in\sigma_I\), or if \(I=S_\mu\) where \(\mu\) is supported in a porous set, then \(I\in\Omega\). In Section 4 they prove that every Blaschke product is the product of two indestructible Blaschke products and, consequently the closed algebra generated by the indestructible Blaschke products is all of \(H^\infty\).
