The goal of the paper is to prove a theorem stating that for any finite configuration of closed curves \(\Gamma \subset R^2\) there exists an explicit planar polynomial vector field that realizes \(\Gamma\) as the set of its hyperbolic limit cycles with prescribed periods, multiplicities and stabilities. The realized limit cycles are algebraic. The construction of such vector fields is based on the application of a polynomial inverse integrating factor and the Darboux theory of integrability.
