Let \(n\) and \(d\) be positive integers \(n\) being even. For any complete family \(Y\) of degree \(d\) hypersufaces in \(\mathbb{P}^{n+1}\) with isolated singularities of type \(A\), \(D\) and/or \(E\) the authors apply an idea of \textit{J. A. Carlson} and \textit{D. Toledo} [Duke Math. J. 97, No. 3, 621--648 (1999; Zbl 0978.14007)] to construct a Deligne-Mumford stack \(\tilde{Y}\) of a space of modules on which the monodromy representation of the family is extended. They study the associated period map for which they prove an infinitesimal Torelli theorem about the isosingular strata of \(Y\) under certain transversality assumptions. They apply the results to the study of the universal covering of \(\tilde{Y}\).
