All triples F,G,M: \(K^ n\to K\) of affine F, G and multiplicative M satisfying the functional equation \(F(x)+M(x)G(x^{-1})=0,\) where K is a commutative field of characteristic \(\neq 2\), are determined. This is an extension of the results by the reviewer [Linear Algebra Appl. 93, 255- 279 (1987; Zbl 0622.39006)] from \(n=1\) to higher dimensions, and from additive maps to affine maps. The method used is a sequence of well planned reductions, transforming the equation back to the case \(n=1\).
