The authors examine the convergence properties of a class of Runge-Kutta- Chebyshev schemes for the explicit integration of stiff systems of ordinary differential equations originating from spatial discretization of parabolic differential equations (method of lines). For a model class of linear problems convergence is proved under the sole condition that the necessary time-step restriction for stability is satisfied. Two numerical examples are given.
